Oh goodness, it has almost been a year since my last post. A lot has happened since the last one, maybe that is why it has taken me so long to post again. It has been a very good year, our family went to Cancun last march, it was such a good experience for us to travel to another country, I went to both spring quilt market which was in Kansas City, Missouri (beautiful place) and Fall quilt market which is always held in Houston, Tx. My oldest son went to Japan and stayed with a friend of our family, a trip of a lifetime! We are now getting ready for the holidays which I adore, this will be the last one with our oldest son who will serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he will be leaving this next summer, so we need to make this holiday a memorable one because he will be gone for two years on a mission.

Button Necklace bonanza
I love making these necklaces, I have a friend who has about 30 of my creations, shh don't tell her husband! I love taking something that once adorned a beautiful piece of clothing and making it beautiful again. Here are some of the button necklaces that I have created over the past couple of years.
I do have a few that I have sold that I have been sad to see go, but glad that they have been purchased by someone who will love and appreciate them(kind of sounds like a pet adoption).

Custom Quilt Charm
Recently I had a customer contact me about a custom pendant charm, I have quilt related charms in my etsy store (http://www.etsy.com/shop/monamiejewelry?ref=si_shop) I was very excited when she asked me to create a charm, like in the first picture, but with her mother in the picture, which is picture number 2. I think it turned out well and hopefully this pendant will be pleasing to the recipient. Thanks to my wonderful customer for the opportunity to create this special charm.

Cowboy boots
I once had a pair of boots, I was about 16 and I had saved cleaning money, baby sitting money and any odd job I could do to get these boots. I bought them at Nordstrom and at the time they were hugely expensive, 100 dollars. I wore these boots everywhere and abused them as any as a 16 year old would do, well I decided since I had spent 6 months earning them that if anything were to go wrong with them that I would take them back and get a new pair, much to my sisters dismay I returned those boots 4 or 5 times, each time they took them back and gave me a new pair to distroy once again. Was I stupid? The answer is YES. Finally I took them back and they no longer carried that boot any long so what did they do? Gave me my money back. This is not a testament to Nordstrom's greatness this is a long ago memory that was kindled when I found some similar boots on Etsy.

Fun in the sun
I need a little warmth, a little sun and a little relaxation. January always hits me hard with the blahs. Last year it lasted from January-March, and I did not have the creative juices flowing. I don't know why but it always gets me down. I found out yesterday that we are going to Cancun in the next few weeks, you can imagine my joy!
Checklist:
Need a passport asap
Need to go to the gym
Need a new swimsuit (cute ones are impossible to find)
I hope to combat the blahs this year, hopefully this trip will do the trick.
